A large crowed enjoyed the 40th annual Autumn Potpourri held Saturday, Oct. 5 in Callands at the site of the former Pittsylvania County Clerk’s Office and Courthouse. After temperatures plummeted overnight from upper 80s on Friday to 50s on Saturday, a long line remained steady throughout the day for Callands Coffee. Craft vendors were on site to sell a wide variety of items including apple butter, handcrafted leather goods, Christmas ornaments, outdoor furniture, books, artwork, and yard sale items. Music played throughout the day beginning at 11 a.m. outside of the courthouse. Festivalgoers also enjoyed meeting Henry and Charlie Hurt inside the courthouse. The Hurt’s signed books for people who stopped by and posed for photographs.
