May 20: The Virginia Department of Health is now reporting that there are 45 cases of COVID-19 in Danville, one more in the last 24-hour reporting period. The number of cases in Pittsylvania County remains at 26. 

Locally, 23 people are reported as having been hospitalized by COVID-19. 

In Virginia, 32,908 people have COVID-19, nearly 800 more cases than were reported yesterday. Additionally, 3,979 people have been hospitalized with the virus and 1,074 people have died with the virus. 

210,965 diagnostic tests have been performed in Virginia. The positivity rate has reduced in the last 24 hours to 14.5 percent.
