A murder charge in aid of racketeering against Danville RICO trial defendant Marcus Jay Davis was dismissed Friday, Nov. 8 in federal court by Chief Judge Michael J. Urbanski. 

In light of the dismissal, Davis is no longer facing a minimum mandatory life sentence according to court documents. 

Davis still faces multiple federal racketeering counts.

According to court documents, Judge Urbanski's opinion on the dismissal is forthcoming and expected by Monday. 

The defense for Marcus Jay Davis rested in federal court Friday, Nov. 8 in Danville.

Court documents state Davis did not testify during the trial. 

According to the court schedule, closing arguments are expected to be heard Monday, Nov. 11.
