In a tweet on Friday, Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin announced that Tax Day will be moved from April 15 to July 15, at President Donald J. Trump's direction.

According to the tweet, all taxpayers and businesses will have the additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties.

Mnuchin encouraged all taxpayers who may have tax refunds to file now to get their money.

This decision comes amid the country's response to the Coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic.
