Danville Sheriff Mike Mondul has reported the Danville City Jail has achieved 100-percent compliance for a recent audit.

The audit spanned a time period of three years and was based on the annual life, health, and safety standards established by the Virginia Board of Corrections.

"Understandably, I am very proud of the supervisors and staff in the jail for their efforts to make this achievement possible. Managing 131 standards for the three year audit for a jail built in the 1970’s is a testament to the commitment to excellence by the Deputies who are assigned to the jail. I appreciate and applaud the efforts of all of the men and women who have worked hard to maintain a top notch facility. While this accomplishment is a team effort," Sheriff Mondul said.
