VDOT has released the following traffic alerts for Pittsylvania County for Sept. 16-20.

In addition, various surface schedules are underway across the district. Be aware of possible lane closures and delays.

For Pittsylvania County:

Route 29 – Crew will work on signs.

Route 40 over Pigg River – Construction of temporary bridge adjacent to existing structure. 45 mph in work zone. Watch for construction vehicles entering/exiting work zone. Flagging operations occasionally in use. Estimated completion of temporary structure is summer 2020.

Route 58 @ 970 – Bridge work until Sept. 20. West shoulder is closed.

Routes 660 and 912, Kentuck area headquarters – Crew will work Rural Rustic projects.

Route 662 (707 – 713) – Road, bridge replacement. Detour via 701 and 640. Estimated completion is Oct. 11.

Route 687, Mt. Airy area headquarters – Crew will replace pipe.

Route 841 (818-612) – Closed Oct. 28- Dec. 6 for culvert replacement. Detour via 818, 840 and 612.

Brosville area headquarters  – Crew will work ditches.

Brosville and Mt. Airy area headquarters – Crews will boom axe at various locations.

Gretna area headquarters – Crew will cut limbs on secondary routes and work surfaces.

Rondo area headquarters – Crew will clean roadsides.

Various routes, Rondo area headquarters – Crew will repair shoulders and ditches.

Various – Crews will mow and respond to customer concerns.

Throughout the district, crews will:

Perform maintenance on bridges/other structures.

Install centerline rumble strips on various primary routes.

Perform maintenance on guardrails.

Address work orders and requests.
