Danville City reported two deaths from COVID-19 since yesterday, bringing the Pittsylvania-Danville Health District death toll from five to seven in 24 hours, so reported the Virginia Department of Health this morning.
Of the seven deaths in Pittsylvania-Danville, one death has been a person in their 40s, one death has been a person in their 60s, one death has been a person in their 70s and the other four deaths have been persons in their 80s, according to the VDH.
The VDH this morning also reported the district broke 600 cases of the virus since the pandemic began.
Total COVID-19 hospitalizations in the district hit 60 for the first time today with a pair of new hospitalizations.
The statewide total case count in Virginia stands at about 89,000. Total cases stand to break 90,000 tomorrow.
Sixteen deaths reported today in Virginia bring the death toll to 2,141, with 7,786 total hospitalizations.
