Traquon L. Allen, 18, of Danville

7:05 a.m. 11/27 UPDATE: Danville police have arrested Traquon L. Allen, 18, of Danville following a homicide investigation that occurred Tuesday evening.

Danville Police Major Tim Jones said Allen has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Allen is waiting extradition back to Virginia from North Carolina according to Jones.

The investigation remains ongoing.

8:43 p.m. 11/26 UPDATE: Police have confirmed the victim from Tuesday’s shooting at Cardinal Village has died. The shooting is now being investigated as a homicide. 

Danville Police responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of Edmonds Street this evening.

At approximately 5:44 PM this evening, Danville Police responded to the 600 block of Edmonds Street on a report of a shots fired call. 

Officers found a 19year-old male, a Danville resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. 

The victim was transported to the Danville Regional Medical Center for his injuries. 

Xavier N. Carson, died as a result of his injuries. His body will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for an autopsy.The investigation is ongoing.
