Update 2:10 p.m.:

The names of the drivers killed in Wednesday morning's Route 57 crash have been released.

State police report that Quintez D. Nibblett, 27, the driver of the Honda, and Michael K. Pickral, 51, the driver of the Dodge truck, were killed in the crash. Both victims were wearing their seat belts.

The crash is still under investigation.

Original Story:

A two-car crash on Route 57 killed both drivers early Wednesday morning, according to Virginia State Police.

Around 5:09 a.m., Feb. 12, a 2016 Honda Civic crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1997 Dodge Ram truck on Route 57 just west of Deer Haven Drive.

After the crash, a fire started at the scene of the wreck, though state police cannot trace it to a specific cause.

There were no passengers in either car.

Both lanes were closed for an extended period of time and traffic was diverted off of Route 57 as the road was cleared.

State police have not released any further information about the crash. They are still in the process of identifying the victims and notifying the victims’ families.
