Brian Jackson

Danville Community College (DCC) welcomed its new Vice President of Workforce Services, Brian Jackson, PhD, CWDP, this week.

Jackson joins DCC from the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in South Boston, where he worked as the Director of Workforce Training.

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Dr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Averett University, a Master of Education and a Doctoral Degree in Human Behavior from Capella University, and he recently obtained a Mini-MBA from the University of Richmond.

Jackson also holds certifications in DiSC Personality Profiling, LIFO Method and Lean Six Sigma and was recently awarded his Certified Workforce Development Professional credentials.

“Having worked for a community college organization in the past, I am excited to return to my foundation and build the same sense of synergy I had in my previous position,” Dr. Jackson said. “DCC offers the community so much and I look forward to providing the guidance to deliver to the community many great opportunities to enhance the city and the region.”

Jackson’s first day on the job was Thursday, and his experience so far has been a pleasant one.

“DCC offers a warm and welcoming feel that embraces you when you first walk on campus,” Jackson said. “From the staff to the facilities, DCC is a gem in the region.”
