Danville Police have confirmed that a Danville man has been charged with first-degree murder for a shooting on Parker Road in August.
This week a grand jury indicted Rakim La'Tae Knight, 29, for the murder of 21-year-old Kymon Haley. Knight was facing charges for shooting in a public place and causing injury, and he still has a charge for the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Officers responded Aug. 2, 2019 to a shooting on the 200 block of Parker Road. Haley was taken by ambulance to an emergency room with gunshot wounds but was shortly pronounced dead.
Police described the incident as an "ongoing dispute that escalated into a shooting."
Knight is being held in the Danville City Jail with no bond.
