James Rowland Hooper was sentenced to 48 years in prison Tuesday, Aug. 20 in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court.
Hooper was found guilty of second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony by a jury in June. The court also found Hooper guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in June.
The charges stemmed from the Jan. 8, 2019 shooting death of Jacob Steele Robertson outside of the Circle K on U.S. 29 in Blairs following a road rage incident that began on White Oak Mountain.
