An early morning shooting on Lawless Creek Road in Pittsylvania County is under investigation by the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

According to Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office Captain Corey Webb, dispatchers received a call around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 for a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of Lawless Creek Road. 

Upon arrival, emergency officials found a male who had been shot. That individual was flown out by Lifeguard 10 with non-life threatening injuries. 

There was also a vehicle, unoccupied, and a mobile home that had been shot.  The mobile home was occupied but no one else was injured.  The unknown suspects had fled the scene prior to the arrival of the authorities.

The name of the suspect has not been released. 

The incident remains under investigation.
