Dorothy Hedrick Guill, age 91, formerly of 210 Hurt St., Chatham, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on January 23, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, and was the daughter of the late Sam Hedrick and the late Ester Towler Hedrick.
She was married to the late John Guill.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be truly missed. She was a member of Sheva Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Adkins and her husband, John of Ringgold, and Nancy Barbour of Chatham; three grandchildren, Daryl Adkins of Dry Fork, Michael Barbour of Chatham, and Jeffrey Barbour and his wife, Roberta of Roanoke; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Adkins and Alexander Barbour.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Agatha Adams and Hilda Payne; and one brother, Ary Hedrick.
Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m. with the Minister Chris Stanley and Minister Larry L. Owen officiating.
The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29, from 7-8:00 p.m. and other times will be at the residence, 210 Hurt St., Chatham.
