To the Editor

I attended the Gretna Little Theater’s performance of Driving Miss Daisy this weekend and I enjoyed it immensely. Tremayne Oakes, Debra Thompson and Michael Carter are to be commended for their roles, which were entertaining, tender and heartwarming.

I grew up on a tobacco farm at Mt. Airy in Pittsylvania County and never imagined that the little town of Gretna would be home someday to the Gretna Center for the Arts and would offer a production of this kind.

Driving Miss Daisy is perhaps my favorite movie of all time and I was not disappointed in this presentation. Kudos to all who made this a stellar success and I look forward to their offering of Steel Magnolias this summer.
