To the editor:

This November, voters in the Tunstall District of Pittsylvania County have a great opportunity to elect a truly great public servant in Vic Ingram.  He has spent most of his life serving others.  As a young man, he served in the Westover Hills Volunteer Fire Department.  Later he served our country in the US Air Force.  After a brief stint with the Hampton Police Division, Vic was hired by Sheriff Taylor McGregor, and served the citizens of Pittsylvania County honorably for over three decades.

While an employee of the sheriff’s department, he was also an instructor at the Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy, where he had a hand in instructing and mentoring countless police officers in many jurisdictions.  He made such an impact on the students he instructed that he was voted instructor of the year six times by the students that he taught.

We have known Vic for many years on a personal and professional level.  It is no doubt that he will serve the citizens of the Tunstall District with integrity and honor as he has done in the past.

We encourage the citizens of the Tunstall District to Vote for Vic Ingram on Nov. 5th, 2019.
