To the editor:

This year’s theme for the National Day of Prayer is Habakkuk 2:14 (KJV) For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

This year due to the current circumstances we will not be able to gather on the court house steps in Chatham as in years past, but I encourage all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to take time at noon on Thursday, May 7, 2020 to stop what they are doing and call on the name of the Lord in prayer for our nation. It is time for rival to sweep our land.

Two local pastors are still recognizing the National Day of Prayer at their churches. Pastor Hank Meadows will be hosting a time of drive thru prayer at noon on Thursday, May 7, at Marion Baptist Church, 2669 Marion Rd., in Chatham. Also, Pastor Terry St. John of Hollywood Baptist Church, 6405 Callands Rd., in Chatham will be conducting a drive thru event on May 7, from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. They will have two lanes setup for people to drive thru and share their burden and join in prayer for their request.

It is time for the church to rise up and stand in the gap for our nation, let’s join our faith and see what great things our God will do! May God bless each of you.
