Chatham High School’s Lady Cavalier basketball team split their two games last week. Chatham lost to Nelson County 70-55, and no we don’t want to talk about it.

Chatham beat Appomattox 60-48. The Lady Cavaliers outscored Appomattox 12-5 in the first quarter, built a 31-18 lead by halftime, and cruised to victory in the second half. Quanadra Tunstall had a double, double with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and seven steals. Point guard Nysheia Miller had 21 points, seven assists, seven rebounds, and five steals. Charity Wilson had six points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Keslee Hylton played well in the paint with four points and seven rebounds. The Lady Cavaliers are 16-4 overall and 8-1 in district.

The boys’ basketball team lost both of their games last week. Chatham lost to Nelson County 64-60 on Tuesday and lost to Appomattox 83-40 on Thursday.

The boys’ junior varsity basketball team split their two games last week. Chatham lost to Nelson County 59-58. Eighth grade sensation Jonavan Coles scored 20 points. Terrell Fitzgerald scored 13 points.

Chatham defeated Appomattox 59-49. Terrell Fitzgerald scored 25 points. Jonavan Coles scored 16 points. 

Chatham’s basketball teams will play Altavista’s basketball teams this week.
