NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

The Pittsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, July 11, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Meeting Room, 39 Bank Street, Chatham, Virginia, on the following ZONING matters:

Case S-22-009 - Requested by Mark Blanchet, for a Special Use Permit for a campground in accordance with Pittsylvania County Code § 35-179. The property is a total of 19.76 acres, located on State Road 58/Martinsville Highway, in the Tunstall Election District and shown on the Tax Maps as GPIN #s 1339-96-3346, 1339-85-8747, 1339-85-7611, and 1339-95-0733. The Comprehensive Plan indicates that the area is suitable for Agricultural and Rural Residential uses. Zoning conditions and Ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.

Case S-22-010 - Requested by Debra Goodwin, for a Special Use Permit for the placement of a double-wide mobile home in accordance with Pittsylvania County Code § 35-223. The property is 1.56 acres, located on State Road 718/Dry Fork Road in the Tunstall Election District and shown on the Tap Maps as GPIN # 2413-53-5665. The Comprehensive Plan indicates that the area is suitable for Agricultural and Rural Residential uses. Zoning conditions and Ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.

Case S-22-012 - Requested by Donna Clay for a Special Use Permit for a Public Garage. The property 5.5 acres, located on State Road 1246/Evangel Drive, in the Dan River Election District and shown on the Tap Map as GPIN # 2346-54-4290. The Comprehensive Plan indicates that the area is suitable for Medium to High Density Residential uses. Zoning conditions and Ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.

Case A-22-001 - The applicant, Joseph Humphrey, is appealing a decision or determination made by the Pittsylvania County Zoning Administrator on October 21, 2021 regarding the administration or enforcement of the conditions placed on Special Use Permit S-15-010 issued to Shady Cover Cabins. The Board of Zoning Appeals will determine whether or not such decisions or determinations were in accordance with the conditions.

During the Public Hearing, concerns from interested citizens supporting or opposing these matters will be solicited. The applications are on file and can be viewed in the Pittsylvania County Community Development Office, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
