BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

The Pittsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, July 12, 2021, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Board Meeting Room, 39 Bank Street, Chatham, Virginia, on the following ZONING matters:

Case S-21-005 - Requested by Green Genie, Inc., for a Special Use Permit for a Campground and Recreational Use (ATV Trails). The property 334.87 acres, located on State Road 686/Elkhorn Road, in the Banister Election District and shown on the Tap Map as GPIN # 2486-34-5505. The Comprehensive Plan indicates that the area is suitable for Agricultural and Rural Residential uses. Zoning conditions and Ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.

Case S-21-006 - Requested by Kenneth and Ann Pierce, for a Special Use Permit for a Doublewide Mobile Home. The property is 1.29 acres, located on State Road 633/Easome Road in the Staunton River Election District and shown on the Tap Map as GPIN # 2565-68-3036. The Comprehensive Plan indicates that the area is suitable for Agricultural and Rural Residential. Zoning conditions and Ordinance standards shall control the density of allowable development.

Case V-21-002 - Requested by Jessica O'Neal, for a Variance to Section 35-226. MINIMUM YARD DIMENSIONS. (A.) Front Setback, Setback from the nearest point on house or principal structure (including porches or stoops or any accessory building) shall be thirty-five (35) feet from the edge of right-of-way, and (C.) Rear Setback, The minimum rear setback, the distance from the rear property line or a lot to the nearest point on the house or principal structure (including porches, stoops, or accessory buildings) shall be a minimum of thirty (30) feet. The property is 0.32 acres, located on State Road 641/Spartan Road, in the Callands-Gretna Election District and shown on the Tax Map as GPIN# 2531-38-1629. The Comprehensive Plan identifies the future land use of this area as Agricultural and Rural Residential.

During the Public Hearing, concerns from interested citizens supporting or opposing these matters will be solicited. The applications are on file and can be viewed in the Pittsylvania County Community Development Office, 53 North Main Street, Chatham, Virginia, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
