Chief Wright waits for the parade to arrive Saturday afternoon at a church on Hunts Town Road in Chatham.

Locals rallied together to form a parade today through the streets of Chatham, honoring former Chatham Police Chief Marvin Wright who retired earlier this month.

Dozens of antique cars, sports cars, motorcycles and emergency vehicles flashed lights and drove slowly from Main Street down Route 57, smiling and waving Saturday afternoon.

A friendly parade participant smiles and waves to the camera.

Emergency vehicles led the parade, consisting of dozens of vehicles stretching as far as they eye could see.

Parade participants are greeted with balloons and goodie bags at Green Rock Gethsemane Church in Chatham.
