COVID outbreak in Gretna case count at 25

With the holidays upon us and more social events taking place, the risk of contracting COVID is rising. It’s also rising in close environments such as the Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gretna. Sadly, six deaths have been linked to an outbreak at the facility. Data from the Virginia Department of Health shows that an outbreak reported on October 20 has infected 35 people and is still active. 

That same day at Westover Christian Academy, an outbreak included 44 people.

Together, Danville and Pittsylvania County are adding around 25 new infections a week.
