At approximately 8:32 p.m. last night, the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call in regards to a domestic incident at 85 Willow Ct. in Martinsville.
Deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and discovered a female victim at the residence suffering from multiple stab wounds to her head, torso and arms.
The victim was identified as Teel Sherice Matthews, 47, of 85 Willow Ct. in Martinsville.
Ms. Matthews was alert and able to communicate with the responding deputies. Ms. Matthews was airlifted to Roanoke for treatment of her injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a verbal altercation over the use of a vehicle occurred between Ms. Matthews and her fiancé, Willie Lee Turner.
During the argument, Willie Turner began to assault Ms. Matthews and her two children, ages 9 and 24.
Turner grabbed a kitchen knife and began to stab Ms. Matthews multiple times.
Turner fled the scene in Ms. Matthews Lime Green Fiat two-door Hatchback with Virginia license plate UPW-4617.
Willie Lee Turner, 61, of 85 Willow Ct., Martinsville, Virginia, is currently wanted for the following charges: malicious wounding, two counts of strangulation, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, and assault & battery.
