A popular Danville seafood restaurant, the Mayflower, is closing its doors after 32 years in Danville.

"After 32 great years of operating the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in Danville and 45 years total in the restaurant business, we have decided it is the right time to retire and make memories with our growing family," owners Gus and Joanne Kostopanagiotis said Saturday. "We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your continued loyalty and patronage of the Mayflower.

The restaurant was located at 2320 Riverside Drive.

"We have highly appreciated getting to know all of our customers and enjoyed serving our community," the owners continued.

A public statement about the restaurant's closure has over 2,200 shares and 300 comments on Facebook at the time of this article's publication.

"Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all of our hardworking employees, vendors and loyal customers for your unwavering support and the unforgettable memories," Gus and Joanne said. "It has been a pleasure working with you and serving you."
