A Danville woman charged with performing a public sex act at a convenience store in Southwest Virginia has been sentenced.
Mildred Pacheco, 47, will serve six months in jail for obscene sexual display in public, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and assault and battery. A Buchanan County Judge sentenced her to 12 months, but suspended half of the sentence.
Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies say it happened New Year’s Day at the Double Kwik Convenience store in Grundy. They say Pacheco and 38-year old Matthew Fuller of South Boston engaged in a sex act in their car parked near the gas pumps. The car door was open and they were in plain view of others, including minors. There were cell phone videos taken that went viral.
The couple reportedly got into a fight with others in the parking lot and someone called police. Pacheco reportedly threatened people with a tire iron.
Officers spotted a vehicle matching a caller’s description and gave chase. They say Fuller was the driver. He crashed, then he and Pacheco ran away.
“Buchanan County citizens should never be involuntarily subjected to such lewd acts of public obscenity, especially our juveniles,” Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerald Arrington said. “We should be able to go to work, patron the Double Kwik, and go about our day to day without the concern of having to witness the display the defendant brought to our county. The jail time she will serve will far outweigh her 15 minutes of fame.”
A grand jury will consider charges against Fuller when they convene next month. He’s charged with eluding police, obscene sexual display in public, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors.
