DANVILLE, Va. — Each year, the Elks contribute millions of dollars worth of time and money, as well as goods and services, to hundreds of worthwhile programs throughout the nation.
With the help on the Elks National Foundation Community Investments Program the Danville Elk Lodge was able to provide pandemic relief funds to three local non-profit agencies totaling $5,550.
Checks were presented outside the Danville Elk Lodge by Exalted Ruler John Webster.
Representatives from the following agencies were on hand to receive the following donations. Gerald Kelly accepted a donation of $2,000 for the Salvation Army of Danville.
Detra Betts and Marilyn Waller accepted a donation of $1,750 for Haven of the Dan River Region.
David Hutson accepted a donation of $1,750 on behalf of House of Hope.
"We count it an honor and privilege to help these agencies serve the people and community through our benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share," representative Karen Myers said.
