Dan River junior volleyball player Kaylee Atkinson was honored as the top Libero in the Dogwood District. Atkinson, senior Emma Divinski and junior Katelyn Stowe were the three Wildcats to make either the first or second team for the district this season.
Kaylee Atkinson, in her second year on the varsity level, was chosen by the coaches in the district as the top defensive volleyball player. Short in stature at five foot, Atkinson was fiery on the court as she dove and went after the ball playing the libero position. She led the Wildcats with 303 digs and was second on the team in serving aces with 28. Emma Divinski earned second team honors after leading the Wildcats in kills (116) and aces (35). Katelyn Stowe also made the Dogwood Second Team as she was second on the team in kills (105) and digs (114), In addition, the Wildcats had three more players - senior Alexa Farmer, junior Jenna Fletcher, and sophomore Lila DeMott - that were named as honorable mention.
