Tunstall softball recognized four graduating seniors on Tuesday night: (l-r) Kaylee Scarce, Kalei  Hundley, Megan Gee, and Kaleigh Griffith.  

Despite giving up three runs in the sixth inning, Tunstall softball held off Bassett for a 7-4 win during Senior Night. 

Four graduating seniors were honored before the game and all contributed to the win. Senior Megan Gee was the winning pitcher recording 9 strikeouts and added 3 hits and 2 RBIs. 

Senior Kaleigh Griffith had 2 hits, including a double, and 1 RBI. Seniors Kalei Hundley and Kaylee Scarce added one hit each. 

“The four seniors have handled themselves with such poise and grace over the past 4 years. I’m so incredibly proud of the young ladies they have become. Their dedication as students and athletes at THS is much appreciated and I am forever grateful,” head coach Jenna Rudder Poteat said. 

Tunstall tallied an incredible 14 hits against Bassett’s lefty. In addition to the seniors' contributions, Gaby Elliot and Trinity Curtis tallied 2 hits each and 1 and 2 RBIs, respectively. MacKenzie Harris had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Elliot and Heidi Ellis each added one hit. 

Tunstall concludes the regular season this week starting at Halifax on June 8 and playing a final make-up home game against Bassett on June 9.
