The Bulldogs showed their resiliency and overcame a tough first inning to win 6-3 in eight innings against Faith Christian Academy Lions.  Westover allowed 3 unearned runs in the opening frame but held FCA to just one hit over the next 7 innings.  WCA stayed close and eventually tied the game at 3 in the top of the sixth inning before adding 3 decisive runs in the top of the eighth for the victory. 

Noah Burton had a solid outing on the mound striking out 11 and Blake Barber closed the game out while picking up the victory.  The Bulldogs were led by Blake Barber with 2 hits while driving in 2 runs and scoring a run.  Aaron Salmon contributed with 1 hit and 1 RBI.  Neil Talbott added 1 RBI, scored 1 run, and had 1 hit. 

Noah Burton, Chris Massingale, Jordan Roberts, and Matt Millner each scored a run in helping to pace the Bulldogs in victory.  As a team, WCA had 11 stolen bases and turned a timely double play to keep momentum on their side.  WCA is on a 4-game winning streak as they set their sights on the VACA State Tournament.

WCA will be on the road to finish out the regular season against Christian Heritage on 5/3/22.  VACA State Tournament will begin next week while Westover awaits their first opponent. 

WCA is 7-4-1 on the season.
